Today I went shopping. We hit up the Mall(which has a terrible layout, btw) and made it into a few stores that we each needed; Chapters, Zellers, The Superstore, Booster Juicer(Mmm!).
I don't go to the mall very often. But when I do it brings back that feeling of normalcy. Somedays I do my best to convince myself that yes, my life is normal...when really, no, its not. Its normal to me, and I would love for it to be normal for everyone else, though it just isn't. Today I felt normal. The normal that the rest of the world says is normal.
While at the mall, I was brought back a few years. Well, many actually! I'm sure that you all have those things in life that bring you back to the good ol' days. The days when life was so much simpler and it wasn't such a bad thing to sit and watch cartoons all day Saturday! That's where I was brought today.
When leaving the mall, we saw a group of boys all dressed in their little uniforms holding something in their little hands. Do you know where I'm going with this? Today is Apple Day for the boyscouts. Now, I'm not really a supporter of the boyscouts persay, but apple days brings back to mind many memories from my childhood.
My dad was a scout leader and on this day in particular, he would have my sister and I help him out by shining the apples - cause they have to look superb in order to get people to make a donation. After staring at apples(or any food)for long enough you can really start to get hungry. So, if you just give the apple a little lick you can't sell them! Then you have to eat them!! Yes, we actually did that, and got in trouble for it!
So today, I bought an apple. There was one kid who will make a good salesman someday. He was asking people for just a penny donation, knowing deep down that most people will end up giving him more cause all he's asking for is a penny. Smart kid.
3 days in a row for the blogging...I'm on some kinda of role!
Blessings.
