lessons learned

Tonight at kneedrill the Lord brought joy to my heart through the children. The faith of children is so amazing. Why do we as adults always forget about the kids, thinking that we always know best...if only we would listen to them more often.

At this very moment I am in a bit of a spot. You see, a few minutes ago, one of my dear brothers brought a woman to my doorstep. He met her on the street and new she needed some warmth and love. My apartment is a good place to get that usually, and we've had many a 'guest' stay on our couch over the past months. However, here's where the 'spot' is...
A new house rule has been established that there will be no more house 'guests.' We can have family and friends from out of town come and visit for a time, sure, but as for inviting our friends from the community to come rest on our couch for the night, the rule has been set in place that we will, as a house, no longer do that(there have been some issues in the past). I invited her in, explaining the rule and assuring her that she could rest until I went to bed.
The question now is, what do I do?
My new friend is already asleep on the couch. She has food in her stomach, a new sweater, and a blanket(that my mom made when I left for college...REALLY hard to part with). I'm feeling extremely tired and have to be up early - do I wake her up, sending her back to the street, knowing full well that I'm headed into a warm bed?? Or do I stay awake, allowing her to sleep?

Holy Spirit, be my guide...

Blessings.

ps.
I don't put all this out there to toot my own horn or say "hey! look what I'm doing!" Its not about that. I feel stuck in the world of not knowing, and that's kinda what this blog is all about...sharing my world, right? So please, I'm asking that you not leave any comments asking me what I did or didn't do...I don't think I'll be sharing either way.

Blessings. Again.

God bless you Denise.

I love you a lot! When Joel tells me things about you it makes me happy! I can't wait to come and visit you sometime. Hopefully sooner rather than later!
