Merry Christmas everyone!
I hope that you all had a wonderful, blessed day.
My day had its ups and downs. I was woken up earlier than I would have liked(the joy of being in a house with children), but it was fun to see their reactions to presents and hear my 2 year old nephew Tanner say..."Mine?!" all day long! Sometimes he was being greedy and other times it was a quizical question. Fun stuff.
We had a few issues with my mom today - we didn't bring any extra clothes and she had an accident after getting here, so I had to drive back to the home to get more pants. Then at lunch we hadn't been given her noontime meds(although we let that slide), it came time to eat-which means pills and insulin time-I give her the pills, take her blood sugar level and its just a tad(more than a tad) high. Insulin will help that...hmmm...if only we had enough insulin...the charge nurse is supposed to make sure all is covered, she didn't. Another trip to the home. My poor mother finally gets her needle(after she had been picking at food), and part way through dinner doesn't look so good. My guess is a mix of the meds, high bs, off insulin time, and eating before the insulin did not go over well with her. I felt bad for her.
It was a fun day all in all though. Its nice to be home and spending Christmas with my family, eating the same foods that I have eaten my entire life! But tonight I came to a conclusion. It doesn't matter where I am or what I'm eating, its about the people I am with. I was blessed to be able to come home for Christmas. Jesus would have blessed me just as much had I stayed in the ghetto with my new friends(I came to the conclusion after speaking with them tonight!).
PTL! He works in all situations!!
God Bless us Everyone!
