Transition is often very tough. When you are involved in a church like The Salvation Army as I am, you learn early on about transition and change. Doesn't make it any easier in the end.
As my previous blogs have stated, we here in Bangor are going through transition; change. Doug and Deb Burr(our former Officers)have moved on to Rhode Island, and our new Officers have arrived with their family and are attempting to settle themselves here in Bangor and get acclamated with what's going on in their new home.
I am the kind of person who likes change. I enjoy moving the furniture around, rearranging things to look different. I enjoy moving and not staying in one place for an extended period of time(that time changes with God).
So much prayer as gone up for this particular change, and God assured me(and others) that this was right and good. Even though I felt that confirmation I was weary, questioning in my head. I'm not questioning anymore.
Things are changing. People have come, people have gone, but one thing remains the same...
"Every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of the heavenly lights, who does not change like shifting shadows." James 1:17
God never changes - Hallelujah!

i miss your beautiful life!
and you're right, every good and perfect gift does come from God!
I remember a quote from 'Blue Like Jazz'at one of our last Sunday School classes with you. Something to the effect of 'Don't try to chart God.' God's strategy is perfect. If we will trust Him, we'll see He knows what He is doing. I'm very grateful you are finding that to be true now. Miss you, my friend.
So I remembered that you were leading a small group with Blue Like Jazz (lucky me got to take one Sunday in) and was totally going to quote that same part as the person above me.
As hard as it is sometimes to just trust..so many more times have we seen because of our faith that God is not only constantly there.. but forever in control.
Having gone through similar changes not too long ago I find sometimes that it is so easy to question his plan especially in the hard times but THANKS Denise for the reminder that in the midst of our own worldly tansitions...we need to give thanks for those good and perfect gifts and take comfort in and trust the reality that God never changes!!
