facing the giants

Do you believe in second chances
Or in a love that never fades
Put your faith in what you can’t see
Just put your hand in mine
And I’ll show you the way
I am grateful that God is the God of second chances; He has given me many and today He's given me one more. I only hope man can give me one more.

Never mind your worries
Never mind your fears
They can only take you far from me
When you feel there’s nowhere
Left for you to turn
Well, I got all you want
And everything you need
Come on back to me
"This is why I tell you not to worry about everyday life --whether you have enough food and drink, or enough clothes to wear. Isn't life more than food, and your body more than clothing? Look at the birds. They don't plant or harvest or store food in barns, for your heavenly Father feeds them. And aren't you far more valuable to him than they are? Can all your worries add a single moment to your life? Any why worry about your clothing? Look at the lilies of the field and how they grow. They don't work or make their clothing, yet Solomon in all his glory was not dressed as beautifully as they are. And if God care so wonderfully for wildflowers that we here today and thrown into the fire tomorrow, he will certainly care for you. Why do you have so little faith? So don't worry about these things, saying, 'What will we eat? What will we drink? What will we wear?' These things dominate the thoughts of unbelievers, but your heavenly Father already knows all your needs. See the Kingdom of God above all else, and live righteously and will give you everything you need. So don't worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will bring its own worries. Today's trouble is enough for today." Matthew 6:25-34
Worry - along with fear - have been my middle names these past few days. Even after the above verses were prayed over me; I was not in posture to receive. I did not want to face the giants.

Oh what I would do to have
The kind of strength it takes to stand before a giant
With just a sling and a stone
Surrounded by the sound of a thousand warriors
Shaking in their armor
Wishing they'd have had the strength to stand
Did you know that "Do not fear" is in the Bible 365 times? Do you(or I)thing that God would put it there so many times if He didn't want us to understand and truly believe that? Thought provoking question.

But the giant's calling out my name
And he laughs at me
Reminding me of all the times I've tried before and failed
The giant keeps on telling me
Time and time again. "Boy you can never win!"
"You can never win"

GOD is the the GOD of 2nd chances and today He wants my faith. He's asking for a mustard seed.

But the stone was just the right size
To put the giant on the ground
And the waves they don't seem so high
From on top of them lookin' down
I will soar with the wings of eagles
When I stop and listen to the sound of Jesus
Singing over me...

I will choose to listen and believe the voice of truth
Do not fear. Honour God.

wow, i just finished listening to the audio series on Worry (Joyce Meyer). Powerful!!! I listened to the last one about worship as a weapon to defeat worry. . worship as a lifestyle of obedience, worship as a bomb dropped on the enemy. Its so cool to read this word from God on the same subject!!

what i meant to say up there was that i listened to this worship defeating worry this afternoon. . and now i read this here and i love it when God emphasizes his messages to us.
