how are you

There are so many thoughts in my head. Within the matter of one day I could probably come up with a dozen things to blog on - seriously. However today, the one thing that struck me most and got me thinking about this particular blog is a comment that was left on my last blog.

The comment was made that:

"I'd rather speak in person, personally. Perhaps it's because with blogging and commenting on blogs, it's incredibly easy to speak before you think, and maybe people actually think, and so they aren't speaking. ???"

Made me think. How many times have I read blogs or e-mails and not responded, with the idea to respond in person - via telephone or otherwise? There are times when a lot of thought has gone into what someone else has said and yet, I still don't respond. Or sometimes when I do respond, conversation is surface level and really gets nowhere in regards to the what's really going on.

Last week in Sonday school we discussed the idea of asking people how they are and not actually being concerned as to how they really are. I ask people all the time how they are and don't take the time to listen to the answer - I did it a couple of minutes ago, actually! The comment left reminded me of this.

Lord, teach me to love as you have commanded.

Blessings.
