Last week I had a day in Bangor on my own. When I finished up at the Corps, I decided to rent a movie and chill for the evening. I ended up getting 'End of the Spear' which is about missionaries who were martyred in Ecuador. Have wanted to see this movie for a few months(since I was in Ecuador last summer) and finally got around to it. The movie definitely didn't disappoint. I found tears forming more than once and was reminded of why I made the decision to follow Jesus. Amazing. If you have an evening free, rent it, its worth it.
I do not remember the name of the missionary this particular movie is about(or the main one the focus on), but the narrative at the end struck me. There were some good words that I thought would be great to share.
These are words from the (now) grown up son of one of the men martyred.
"Through the years people could identify with our loss. They would never imagine the way we would experience gain."
I would tell you what he means by that, but that would ruin you having to rent it to find out! =)
"No one took my father's life, he gave it."
Hallelujah!
Blessings.

That sounds very interesting. I am glad you got so time to yourself. Man I miss you so much. I can't to see you. Check out some of my news blogs. There is some news that I am sharing with everyone so they can pray for my sister and I. Well I hope you are having a great time. God is pround of you with all you are doing for him. Keep it up.
Nate Saint and Jim Elliot were two of the missionaries, I beleive. As Deb said - we saw this w/our cell group - whew - incredibly powerful and very thought provoking. Yep , bring the tissues. See you soon.
