relaxing

In trying to take my own advice and actually follow what I said, today I went back to the park to enjoy the sun. The weather today is sunny and bright, though not as humid as yesterday - I was actually feeling a little chilled in the wind!
While I was sitting there on the bench, hoping the sun would come back from behind the clouds, a gentleman came and sat down next to me. His name was Sam. I got the feeling after a few minutes that he just wanted someone to chat with, so I was glad to have been sitting there. We talked about his time in the military, and how since then(he's 75) he has painted houses and worked as an inspector for the fire department. I don't even know where the Fire Department is here!! At the end of our conversation, he smiled, said goodbye and went home to eat his soup. I told him I would keep him in my prayers, and that I hoped to see him again as he passed through the park. What a nice man.
My reason for going to the park - other than to enjoy the sun - was to start reading my next book. I was part way through the first chapter when Sam sat down beside me. When he left, I picked it up again and read:

"When we are relaxed and free to be ourselves, that is when the supernatual flows, and its not always in a flashy, loud, or demonstrative way. Adter all, it is Christ in us that is the hope of glory." Patricia King - Light Belongs in the Darkness

I'm definitely going to relax in the park more often.

Blessings.

I talked to some strangers today at Old Orchard Beach. Dude i swear i go there at least once a week, maybe twice.

but I said "hey want to play two on two? (volleyball)" then the game got big (7 on 7) and i proceeded to smash the ball into a bunch of camp workers (male and female) from some sports camp.

it was so fun!
