First I must apologize for how bad a blogger I am. Here I go promising to update you all on my New York trip and honestly, I have no real ambition to do so. I've sat in front of a computer during various points of my day and yet...this is the first time I actually type anything. What's up with that?!
But here you go. I'll do my best(quickly b/c I'm tired and still sick)to fill you in as best I can.
New York. There was real spiritual warfare regarding this trip, especially right around the time we were to leave for Seattle(which was 5am!). A knock comes to my door at 4:45 and it is told to me that Andy has been vomitting for 2 hours! "WHAT? Andy has to come on this trip!" is all I can think to myself. Jonathan, our fearless leader, thinks the same thing and Andy and I are waiting outside just a few minutes later for our ride to arrive. In the meantime I've had Crystal(one of my roomies) and Andy pray over me(of course I prayed for him too) because I am not feeling 100% either. My throat was so raw. It was all bad.
The car ride to the border is eventfull cause we stop so poor Andy can jump out of the car to do his business on the side of the road. Same thing happens at the border crossing, and inside the building where Andy has to fill out a form for the one that's expired in his visa(Andy is an Aussie). The border patrol guy even asked "Are you alright, sir?" Although I don't think he really cared for an answer.
To shorten this part of the story significantly, Andy continues to vomit until about an hour before we land from our first flight(its a 5 and a half hour flight!!). At this point he looks SO much better and tells us he's feeling better. Praise the Lord, there was no more sickness after that!
We meet up with Heather in Philadelphia - where I have the sudden urge to watch Rocky!! - and make it to Syracuse safe and sound.
After a bite to eat with our new friend, David, we head to Camp Longpoint(or is it Longpoint Camp? Hmmm)and see our accomodations. Beautiful rooms right on the point, overlooking the water. What a blessing! A double bed(the most comfortable I've slept in)all to myself! *sigh* I wanted to bring it back with me. Sleep was welcomed that night, and every night we were there for that fact!
Friday was a good day. We were able to sleep as late as we wanted and just have a relaxing day, taking in the scenery(it was raining...boo!) and enjoying each others company. To be honest, I wasn't expecting the weekend to be as relaxing as it was. I was thankful, though, cause my throat didn't get any better throughout. Even with good sleep.
We worked on the first session together(which was nice cause I wasn't expecting to be a part of this) and then chilled out until the delegates arrived.
I forgot to mention that the leaders of this division...at least the DY's and Dave...are spirit filled and led. They are aware of the young adults in their division and have a sincere vision as to where they see God leading them and the division. It was so nice to see. Praise the Lord for them!
I would love to fill you in more but...I need to sleep!!! =)
pray for me. I'm still sick. We got home on Monday and my throat was still pretty sore. Then when I woke up, I had pink eye!! I've been to the Doctor, who saw nothing in my throat and gave me drops for my eye. The eye is getting better, but my throat still aches. Rest. That's what I need, I think. I'm going to get it now.
Blessings.
