thoughts on fullness

My first prayer and fasting retreat - what a weekend it was! We took the ferry to Vancouver Island(my first time there) and headed to Campbell River. I was lucky enough to be in a van with some great ladies and we were able to take our time getting to the resort, taking the scenic route through the Island and stopping off along the way for lunch at a sea side pub. Seeing both ends of a rainbow and all the colours really topped off the drive for me. I thought of it as God's promise to us as we started focusing in on Him for the weekend...he was ever faithful and kept the rain away, even giving us sunshine for most of Saturday.
Fullness. I wish I were an eloquent writer so I could really tell you all of how this weekend impacted me.
The speaker for the weekend was Major Janet Munn. She is gifted, that's for sure. If any of you ever get the chance to listen to her speak...DO IT!
What made the biggest impact to me was on Friday night when we spent some time thinking about our fasting. What are we fasting from and for? This weekend was a corporate fast so we were all obviously fasting food - but what for? What is the purpose?
Here's where I get honest!
For me, its to get away from the comfort that I take in food. It has always been a crutch for me - and now I want to break that crutch and toss it!!!
Also, discipline. I don't have much and I want more...More...MORE!!. More time spent in prayer for specific people/places/things. More time spent in the word(much more), devouring it, soaking it in.

"For God had something better in mind for us, so that they would not reach perfection without us." Hebrews 11:40

That's what I'm longing for. To understand and accept that God does have something better in mind for me. Its Fullness.

Blessings.
