drum roll please....

Well friends, it looks like it is official. My summer assignment will indeed be in Bangor, Maine. We were talking about the summer in our class this afternoon and Stephen shared a few of our assignments with us.

I will be heading to Bangor in May with my friend
  • Joel
  • . He's pretty cool and although I don't know him as well as some others in my session, I know that God will use us in an amazing way. Please pray for all of our summers. They are going to be times of stretching, and growing - while getting to use and be trained up more in our spiritual gifts. We need your prayers.

Tonight we had kneedrill(prayer meeting) and it was pretty amazing. I have known since arriving here that God has some big plans for the downtown eastside and its people and tonight that was confirmed to me. We walked the streets/alley around the building praying Psalm 91 over it. When back inside, we were singing and praising some more and were asked to share what God had revealed to us for the DTES through our time outside. I was a little weary about sharing. I don't usually share at these things because I'm not always confident in hearing God. Tonight however, my heart was pounding and I was starting to sweat...I knew I had to share. This is my prayer for the DTES:

    "The Lord is king!
    Let the earth rejoice!
Let the farthest coastlands be glad.
    Dark clouds surround him.
Righteousness and justice are the foundation of his throne.
    Fire spreads before him
and burns up all his foes.
His lightening flashes out across the world.
    The earth sees and trembles.
The mountains melt like wax before the Lord,
before the Lord of all the earth.
    The heavens proclaim his righteousness;
    every nations sees his glory."

THE DOWNTOWN EASTSIDE WILL SEE HIS GLORY! Praise the Lord!!

    That's my news for today!

    Blessings.
