Time really does fly when you are pulling in 60 hour weeks! I apologize to those of you who regularly check this site for some insight into my life and ministry.
So what's been happening with me...
I have been sick with a cold which kept me in bed for a couple of days. It was not nice. This pesky cold has been passed around from person to person and my immune system broke and I got it. Its all gone now though, so don't worry about me! ;) Not that you were!
Time since Christmas has really been flying by quickly. We settled into classes again and got right back into the swing of things. I have handed in some papers, done a little research and have been learning more about my spiritual gifts.
This week we have had a guest teacher in Major Doug Burr, Corps Officer from Bangor, Maine. His classes have been very interesting and he has helped to peak an interest in a spiritual gift that I have not been working on at all. I have been so interested this year in learning more about the spiritual gifts that I possess and how to work at honing them and actually using them. Now the opportunity is really coming about. Its amazing.
I have been have some great prayer times and have been learning a whole heck of a lot about deilverance(casting out demons and the such)...nervous yet?! haha. Don't be - its pretty cool. And actually, I have asked for the opportunity to head to Bangor for the summer to work more closely with Doug and help out with the ministry that they have going on out there. This isn't a full on for sure I'm going, but you can all be praying for God to be the decision maker regarding this. As much as I would like to be there, it needs to be God sending me. Pray your little hearts out!
I have a prayer session set up for Friday morning and I am very excited about it. I have no idea what will happen or where it will go, but Jesus has a plan and knows what needs to go on - Praise the Lord! I also have the opportunity to sit in and intercede(pray) for a few session mates as they go through their sessions. Am looking forward to this as well.
We have started a new School of Justice project. If you will remember, my hotel group did a hotel makeoever for friends of the Shaldon and that went over without a glitch. This term, we were allowed to create our own groups and decide what our projects would be from there. My group is made up of 3 girls and we have chosen to go into a youth detention centre and create relationships with as many of the girls there as we can. We are hoping that through this we will be able to really connect with them, attempting to try and keep them off the streets and out of trouble by hooking them up with people who will be willing to invest some real time into them(including us). We haven't really started full on yet, but I did get to go there last Saturday and it was great! I'm looking forward to going back. God is really going to work on some of these girls. We were assured of this when we got there and everything went wrong(like when the sick started leaking in the bathroom and came out all over the place!). Satan was shut down pretty quickly and we went on with the program!! He's got no authority!!!!
That's all for now. Time is almost up. I'll fill you in on how the prayer session goes...
Blessings.
