My weekend

I had a very nice weekend. Where do I begin?!

Friday night found us(J,J,O,K,R & me) leaving Vancouver and heading to Seattle. I had never been to Seattle, so the idea was very exciting. However, getting out of Vancouver proved to be a little more difficult than we had bargained for. After driving around for about an hour we finally hit the highway headed south...yeah, vancouver streets are crazy to drive around, and I've come to realize that no one here every gives proper directions. But I digress because I wasn't driving, thankfully!
We made it to the Reardon's house in Seattle(THANK YOU for letting us invade your space!) about 9:30pm and were welcomed by Rob and the boys. I have not seen Rob since I was about 15 years old, so that in itself was a little weird. Plus, he kept introducing me as "the girl who dated your uncle" to his kids. His oldest son used that to retort me for most of the weekend!!
On Saturday we did some hanging out. Went to Pike Place Market - a quaint market place on the waterfront that is packed with people. Its one of those places that's only really good if you have a little money to spend(which we all know I don't have!). It was still nice to get out and walk around.
Early Saturday evening we headed back to the house to participate in 'Sabbath Supper' with the Reardon clan. This happens every Saturday night. The whole family(and often guests) get together to eat, have time together and share in God's days. What a wonderful tradition for their children! I loved it.
Saturday night saw the 4 of us staying at the Reardon's heading downtown to see Switchfoot in concert...now let me tell you about the concert.

It was an all ages show - so there were young kids and many parents and chaperones around. There were 2 openning bands - Reeve Oliver and Eisly. Niether were that great, though the drummer from RO was amazing! There was way too much time spent setting up and tearing down between acts and in my opinion, both bands played too many songs. The show started at 8pm and by the time Switchfoot got on stage is was after 10pm!
Switchfoot played a variety of songs both old and new which was great, and they sound really great live, so that was a bonus...since I had heard that in the past they weren't always that great as a live band, I was pleasantly surprised. Anywho, besides all the pushing that was happening up at the front(and there was a lot), the night was a good one. Once I got away from all the pushers, I stood at the back, could see the stage and hear everything without having to worry about people stepping on my toes and being knocked over.
Good times were had by all! It was really nice to get away.
A new week begins.

Blessings.
