thoughts from summer...

7am - devotions

II Corinthians 4:8-18

Satan and other worldly things around me are pushing in - but I am not crushed. I am baffled, but not desperate; persecuted but not forgotten; hit hard, but never destroyed. I must make a better effort to carry the body of Jesus Christ when he was dying, with me everywhere, all the time. So that Jesus' life will eminate through my body. Because I, who is alive, will be sentanced to death for Jesus' sake.

"Give me a sign of your goodness, that my enemies may see it and be put to shame, for youl, O Lord, have helped me and comforted me." Psalm 86: 17

Its hot - very hot. Africa hot! Anyone who would choose to come to Florida in June is nuts! The heat, the humidity, th BUGS! Crazy!
The past couple of days, including today, will/have been spent in classes in preparation for the summer - for first time leaders anyway. At least we get air conditioning!! PTL!

June 15th 2005

The rain started today! I hate it! Its pouring, I am tired and everything is wet and getting wetter! =(
While I haven't written much, I guess there just hasn't been much to share!! ha!! There is always something to share - just not time to share it.
My team- they are a good bunch of teens; 18 of them. There are quiet ones and not so quiet ones. Probably the best part is that they are good as a team. When encouragement is needed, they encourage. The older ones are mature enough to take responsibility (even when they don't want to!). We are blessed. Its been difficult with just 2 leaders - there are generally 4 per team. So we have been struggling in that sense...but the team....they are troopers and are taking everything as it comes. Yep - we are blessed.
