Retreat '05

Wow. I'm tired! Or I should say I'm still tired. This past weekend I had the priveledge of being a cabin leader at our annual youth retreat. What a weekend it was! It had its ups and its downs(as any weekend away does), but overall it was a good time.

I commented last week about how I wonder if the teens actually get anything out of these weekends away - and to be honest, I'm still wondering that. The topic this weekend was truth and discovering God's truth in our lives. Learning how one of God's names is 'I Am' and how we can discover Him and his teaching. I really enjoyed the speaking - though some of our younger teens found it to be a little over their heads(and I can see how it was). We'll have to work on that for next year.
There were many good memories made this weekend. We had a lot of teens who were at their very first retreat - they were impecably well behaved! We have one girl who often gets homesick, who didn't call home once! AMEN! That in itself was good enough for me! The fact that she came(I was surprised), stayed the entire weekend, and told me yesterday that she'd be back next year...woohoo! That's a God thing, imo.

This is Meghan's new journal. She's an awesome girl, whom I love dearly. She's open, honest and a great friend to have. I appreciate her more than she'll know. I'm glad that she was there this weekend and I look forward to spending much more time with her.

I'll post a few pics of the weekend soon - once I can get them small enough!! lol.
